NTTB Rumblings – 25 January 2018

cropped-nowthatsthunderbasketball_sheriffbadge1.jpgRoyce Young (ESPN) on how Westbrook’s support of Paul George’s All-Star snub may be influencing future decisions: “We were actually joking before he went up there, and I’m like, ‘Nah, Russ, man, just let it go, let it go Russ. It is what it is, I wasn’t picked,’ and he was like, ‘Nah, man, P, that’s messed up. I’m gonna tell them something about that,'” George said.”

Nick Friedell (ESPN) on Westbrook throwing Damian Lillard a little All-Star shade: “I respect Russ a lot, so it was kind of disappointing to see him say that,” Lillard said prior to Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. “Because he’s played against me, he’s played against our team, he knows what I’ve accomplished. Not just this year, but over my career. So it was a little bit disappointing, but I know that I earned my spot this year. And that’s pretty much what it is: I earned my spot.”

Zachary Weisleder (Inside The Loud House) revisiting Carmelo Anthony’s career high 62 point performance at MSG four years ago.

Fred Katz (Norman Transcript) on Steven Adams’ struggles in the Nets game and his mindset regarding the struggles: “The Oklahoma City Thunder center pulled down nine offensive rebounds but made only 3 of 12 shots, clanking on baby hooks and touch shots around the rim he normally makes. Never before has he hit such a low percentage of as many attempts. “It would be cool if it went in. That would make things a lot easier, make everyone happy. I prefer that,” Adams said. “But me, personally, I don’t really care. I practice them all the time. Sometimes they go in, sometimes they don’t.”

Berry Tramel (NewsOK) on the Andre Roberson free throw conundrum: “But Roberson is an every game problem for Billy Donovan and Thunder fans. Roberson now has made just 10 of 35 foul shots this season, a percentage of .286. That’s historically bad. Unbelievably bad. The only two worse seasons I found through some quick scouring has been Andris Biedrins (four of 13 in 2012-13) and Greg Anderson (six of 25 in 1995-96). The intentional fouling of Roberson will only increase.”
