  • When: Wednesday, 14 February at 7:00 pm CST
  • Where: FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN
  • TV: FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -4.0 | O/U – 208

The Set-Up: It’s difficult to plan for a team that has only been on the court for one game. When the Oklahoma City Thunder faced the Cleveland Cavaliers last night, the Thunder’s coaching staff had exactly one game of film to review in order to scout the Cavs. A good scouting report usually takes about 10 games worth of data to find patterns and habits. • When: Tuesday, 13 February at 7:00 pm CST
  • Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
  • TV: TNT/FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -1.5 | O/U – 221.5

The Set-Up: The last time the Oklahoma City Thunder faced the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Thunder were in the midst of an 8-game win streak, while the Cavs were looking more like a lottery team instead of a title-contending team.  Continue reading Cavs vs. Thunder preview (Game 58 of 82)

Thunder @ Lakers preview (Game 56 of 82)

  • When: Thursday, 08 February at 9:30 pm CST
  • Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA
  • TV: TNT/FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -3.5 | O/U – 216.5

The Set-Up: For many teams, the game after the trade deadline is a battle of attrition. The players that were traded away, of course, will not be available for their old team. And, unfortunately, because of travel and needing to get physicals, won’t be available for their new teams either. With injuries and transacted players, some teams are left with rosters the size of playoff rotations. Continue reading Thunder @ Lakers preview (Game 56 of 82)

  • When: Thursday, 01 February at 9:30 pm CST
  • Where: Pepsi Center, Denver, CO
  • TV: TNT/FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -1.0 | O/U – 217

The Set-Up: I’ve noticed in my adult years that even an hour of change in my routine can mess me up for about a week. It doesn’t matter whether I gain an hour of sleep or lose an hour of sleep, it messes me up all the same. Now imagine if over a seven day period, you change time-zones five times. That’s enough to mess up anyone’s circadian rhythm, especially a routine-based athlete.  Continue reading Thunder @ Nuggets preview (Game 52 of 82)

Thunder @ Wizards preview (Game 51 of 82)

  • When: Tuesday, 30 January 2018 at 6:00 pm CST
  • Where: Capital One Arena, Washington D.C.
  • TV: FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -2.5 | O/U – 219

The Set-Up: Consistency was something the Oklahoma City Thunder struggled with early in the season. They’d play like the best team in the world against the likes of the Golden State Warriors, but then lose by 15 to the struggling Dallas Mavericks. The talent on this team is evident, that is for certain. But it’s a talent that consists of veteran alpha scorers. Guys who tend to get bored when the level of competition on the opposite end of the court is not on par with them.  Continue reading Thunder @ Wizards preview (Game 51 of 82)

  • Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK

Star date: Day 1, post Andre Roberson.

The Injury Reaper was busy on Friday and Saturday. It went on an easterly track, going from New Orleans to Memphis and then, finally, to Detroit. It took out three key players that will have an impact on the rest of the season moving forward. The first victim was New Orleans Pelicans big man DeMarcus Cousins, who was struck down by a torn Achilles tendon on Friday. Then Saturday morning, the Memphis Grizzlies released a statement stating point guard Mike Conley, who had been out since November, would miss the remainder of the season with surgery on his bothersome heel/foot. • When: Saturday, 27 January 2018 at 4:00 pm CST
  • Where: Little Caesars Arena, Detroit, MI
  • TV: FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -3.5 | O/U – 207.5

The Set-Up: The last time the Oklahoma City Thunder had a 6-game win streak, injuries (and a bad call) brought that tumbling down. In December, the Thunder were hitting on all cylinders during a streak that saw them beat division opponents, Houston, and Toronto. Then Paul George goes out with an injury (and the refs blow an egregious call on a game-winning play) and the streak comes to an end.  Continue reading Thunder @ Pistons preview (Game 49 of 82)

  • When: Thursday, 25 January 2018 at 7:00 pm CST
  • Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
  • TV: TNT
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -5.0 | O/U – 213

The Set-Up: There’s a purveying thought in the NBA that the mark of a good team is taking care of business at home, beating the teams you are supposed to beat handily, and winning some of the games against the teams either at your level or above you. While that all may be true, one of the “shhhhh, it’s a secret” signs that you are a good team is the ability to coast through much of a game against an inferior opponent and then completely snatch their heart out at the end of the game. • When: Tuesday, 23 January 2018 at 7:00 pm CST
  • Where: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, OK
  • TV: FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -10.0 | O/U – 213

The Set-Up: The Oklahoma City Thunder have had some impressive victories against the upper echelon of the NBA. They’ve beaten the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and, most recently, the Cleveland Cavaliers in pretty convincing fashion. It’s what they’ve done after those games that has been disappointing. The inconsistencies the Thunder have shown this season really shine in the games after the “big” games. • When: Sunday, 07 January 2018 at 7:00 pm CST

  • TV: FSOK
  • Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM, 930 AM (Spanish))
  • Line: OKC -8.0 | O/U – 222

The Oklahoma City Thunder kicked off the New Year in resounding fashion, taking care of business in Los Angeles on a back to back against the Lakers and Clippers. The Lakers game was a blow-out, while the Clippers game was more of a close, back and forth affair that necessitated an assist from the bench in the fourth quarter to eventually close the game out.  Continue reading Thunder @ Suns preview (Game 40 of 82)
