Michael Shapiro (Michael Shapiro) on Paul George showing his worth on the Thunder: “Playing next to Westbrook has shined a light on George’s game without the ball in his hands. Much of the praise he’s received in his Oklahoma City tenure springs from outside the box score. George is an elite cutter and a dangerous lob threat. He’s a quality spot-up shooter from beyond the arc. Defensively, George had a case to be on the All-Defensive team last year, finishing second in the league in steals. Yet for all of his peripheral strengths, George’s sheer scoring ability has been overlooked.”
Nick Gallo (OKCThunder.com) looking back at a night to remember: “I wanted to try to get two guys on me because they thought I was going to drive. Exactly what I thought they were going to do, they did, and it freed up the guy who had 25 points in the fourth quarter.,” Westbrook said before quipping, “Easy decision for me.”
Tyler Conway (Bleacher Report) on Russell Westbrook passing Jason Kidd for 3rd all-time on the career triple-double list: “Passing Johnson for second place on the all-time list is a foregone conclusion, but Robinson is a more interesting question. The 30-year-old Westbrook’s dominance largely depends on his absurd athletic ability.”

Jonathan Lehman (New York Post) looking at Paul George’s masterpiece from the other side of the fence: “He’s a high-caliber basketball player,” Nets guard Allen Crabbe said. “You can’t let somebody get hot like that, especially the way the game was changing, too. They had all the momentum so everybody was fired up. … For a guy like that, I’m pretty sure it only takes one or two baskets to go in before he starts feeling like the rim is really big. Everything that he started shooting was going in.”
Erik Horne (NewsOK) recaps the come from behind victory by the Thunder in Brooklyn: “Westbrook, who finished with 21 points, 15 rebounds and 17 assists, was at the head of that reversal. In the fourth-quarter flurry, he hustled for offensive rebounds. He skied for defensive rebounds in the last minutes, never getting a stat but his effort enough to help George get the rebound that allowed Donovan to call timeout to set up the final shot.”
