Thunder At A Glance – 28 August 2018

img_4063Brett Dawson (NewsOK) on the Thunder’s signing of Clemson star Donte Grantham: “The 6-foot-8 Grantham averaged 14.2 points and 6.9 rebounds as a senior at Clemson, but his season was cut short on Jan. 20, when he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.”

The Thunder’s G-League affiliate, the Blue, released their regular season schedule on Monday.

Interesting group to be a part of for Russell Westbrook

Cody Taylor (OKC Thunder Wire) with the Kyle Singler Watch update: “If the Thunder waive Singler by Friday, the team could stretch his guaranteed salary over the next five seasons as teams can stretch salary up to twice the number of years remaining on his contract, plus an additional year.”

Danny Small (Clutch Points) on the report that the Pacers would have traded Paul George to the Lakers had they received Brandon Ingram or the No. 2 pick: “It’s hard to imagine the NBA if one of those two scenarios happened. Victor Oladipo doesn’t end up in Indiana and he likely doesn’t have the breakout season he had last year. Who knows how George’s presence with the Lakers would affect LeBron James’ free agency decision. Not to mention, the young corps in Los Angeles would look and feel much different with Ball or Ingram.”

Niccolo Hilgendorf (Hoops Habit) on Dennis Schröder rehabbing his image in Oklahoma City: “He won’t be starting like he did in Atlanta, but let’s face it, who wouldn’t rather come off the bench for a competitive team than play starters’s minutes for a tanking organization?”
